Perhaps you’re inspired to make some personal changes in the new year. That’s great – as long as you have a plan in place to make it happen.
Losing weight tends to top the resolution lists for lots of folks. If that’s your goal, just be sure to stack the deck in your favor so the changes you make stick and you achieve long-term success.

great post and so important for people to read and hear
Nice post! But i have a question for you?Whats your opinion about using dieting pills for losing weight? Some of the specialists are saying that they have serious side effects.Do you think the side effects are really that much serious?
We did not make a New Year’s resolution this year. At our age, it didn’t seem worthwhile. We have not kept one yet! LOL
Hope others have better success! Good luck to you and think positive!
Bill
Good article Janet! You inspired me to follow up on it on my own site here.
If I can add a few comments:
the word “detox” can have a few meanings in diet memes, and I think you attacked only one (rightfully so), but in other contexts I think the word has a meaning that’s more accurate.
I also think there’s something to be said about the usefulness of New Year’s resolutions all together. I think they suck. If you want to make a positive change in your life, why not do it right away?
How much is wasted by exploiting our recidivism? Just my two cents.
Really a great one, Janet. Ya, it’s true that lots-n-lots of people move towards dieting to loose weight. This is a great resolution for them on this new year. I appreciate your collection of thoughts.
Good article Janet, look forward to the next one
