It’s time to bring back cooking lessons in schools as it’s obvious children are not learning healthy eating at home

Maybe the government should subsidize apples and broccoli instead of corn (aka high fructose corn syrup's mother).....and maybe our schools cafeterias shouldn't be one of the largest customers of the prepackaged foods michelle is talking about....

I'm excited about this effort but would still like to see fresh fruits and vegetables as affordable and as accessible as packaged foods ... especially in schools. We have a long road ahead, but it's great to see so much energy and momentum behind kids' nutrition issues.

Wow, the way Michelle Obama is managing this is so clever! She's going to make it unprofitable to food companies NOT to participate in the health initiative. The stigma attached to companies that don't take on the challenge will eventually bring them negative publicity and reduce their market share.

It will be very interesting to hear the food companies proposals as to how they'll significantly reduce the fats, sugars and salts in their products.
