It is an excellent occasion to reiterate our commitment to provide nutrition and food information to the consumers, media and health professionals. It is a useful discussion.

I agree Janet. Food should be enjoyed, with a varied, balanced diet the emphasis. I also think that food should be enjoyed in the sense of growing, buying and cooking healthy meals. Who doesn't love a bit of fun in the kitchen?

Good point Stan. If our diets are largely composed of fruits, vegetables, wholegrains and moderate amounts of meats, fish and dairy then there really is no place in our diets for overly processed 'convenience' foods.

Why would you not want to restrict "bad" foods? Because it hurts the profits of big food companies who are spreading this propaganda, like trying to sell you "Smart Choice" processed foods and telling you that they're OK to eat regularly. Then when you develop degenerative diseases this way, the "healthcare" industry comes in and "helps" you with their prescription drugs.

The food industry donates huge sums of money to nutritional schools so that they can get their agenda included in the curriculum and taught as scientific "facts."
